Are you happy? Street Photography Gallery.
As anyone who has browsed the Street Photography Gallery would know it is far from as organised as most of the other galleries. It is a Mis-categorised mess and needs to be cleaned up.
What many of you may not already know is that our beloved Gallery Director straightfromcamera has just stepped down from his position.
This is why I have created a petition in Poll form to get some results from the DA team.
Please take your time to do the poll. It will only take a second or two.

P.S. I have my own ideas that I have discussed with Obsidian-Fox but I would like to know what YOU think should be done.

Photography Tutorial Part 2
Part 2 – Composition, Exposure, Aperture and ISO
Hey guys! It’s time for the next part. This will explain the basics of different camera functions, and briefly explain why each settings are used in different situations.
Again, I’d just like to say: Please fav this article and post links in your journals, as this will help more people to see it!
Composition:
Composition is absolutely key in creating a powerful image. Without proper composition a photo loses the potential it has to be spectacular.  It is therefore essential to think before you shoot… I cannot stress enough how important this is!!!
Rule of Thirds
This rule is an essential rule for composition. It follows the basis that humans are naturally more inclined to like an image that follows this rule, than one that does not.  As I don’t know how to put images into this article, I will try to explain it in words.
If, however words don’t quite work,

Photography Tutorial Part 3
Part 3- Shooting RAW
Hey everyone! It’s time for the next instalment.  The previous parts of this series can be found at the bottom of my journal.  I hope you find this useful!
A quick correction from the last one: For the rule of thirds, split your image into 9 segments not 6. Sorry if I caused any confusion!
Again, I’d just like to say: Please fav this article and post links in your journals, as this will help more people to see it!
:D
I’ve said before that if you can shoot RAW (or NEF) then you should. This is because capturing a RAW shot is like having a “digital negative”.  You’re effectively capturing more of what the cameras sensor picks up than you would in a JPEG.  This allows for more options during your post processing amongst other things.
I personally use Adobe Lightroom to sort and process my RAW’s.  There are other programs, but Lightroom does everything I need it to.

Activity

Been ages since I've updated this, I can tell because I finished reading the Twilight Saga ages ago.
Doing quite well with most things, working hard at Summer School (university) which is proving a lot of hard work, which should be no surprise given how I began this sentence.
Honestly I've got a lot of films lying around, I emailed the place I usually post them to (only done that once so far actually) but they haven't responded so I'm not sure if they're still in business or having a particularly long Christmas break or what, so probably no photos for a while.

This was the most heatwarming comment I ever recieved.
I'm living with a parent in Dunedin, New Zealand, was only in hospital for six weeks following my injury and hopefully my head is better, I'd say it works better than it did ten and a half months ago, probably because I was in a coma then but you know what I mean.
I was doing a psychological assessment and I just had to remember something like 15 words which I did after hearing them listed the third time and then I remembered them again a while later and then again a while later so the guy testing me said "nobody's done that for 18 years" and I wasn't surprised at the time.

Rehab wasn't that bad once I was gone :D

It was a particularly long six weeks, the Sundays in rehab were especially long, but that six weeks does include a 12ish day coma, which is funny when you wake up, man in a medical coat tells you that you just came out of your coma and btw we took out most of one of your frontal lobes, your first question is always going to be "what year is it?".

But yeah I recovered stupidly fast/well for the first couple of months and slowed down a bit after that, but I did a semester of university (for which I don't have my marks back but certainly failed at least one of the only two papers I did) and have been getting out a lot with my main group of friends quite a lot lately and walking a hell of a lot so really it's better than can be expected, considering all neuro professional people should by training automatically assume I was dead given my brain scans, so that's always nice.
