Rehab

Fri Oct 10, 2008, 10:41 PM
Just thought seeing as you guys all care about me so much I'd tell you that I picked up a moderate to serious head injury and am currently stuck without internet in rehab, and that's where I've been for the last month and a bit, I don't want to go to prison.

Next time they try to make me go to rehab I'm just going to flat out refuse.

Edit;

Think I'm doing better now, working at getting back to university and getting to go to the gym quite a lot with a free personal trainer who somehow knows just how much to do to get me to the point where I can't really do any more, which is good for my muscles, which are stronger than they've ever been, unlike in rehab where I had to get nurses to open jars, I think there was an injoke, the nurses and other staff kept saying "nurses have strong wrists", am I missing something?

I need help to keep the *Deviant-Underground churning, am basically trying to do it by myself atm,

One of the only things I notice that I do wrong since my injury is holding down shift for just a tiny bit longer than I need to resulting in TWO capitalized letters at the start of each sentence.

I pretty much just finished reading the first Twilight book, :o

I wish i was a Warhol silkscreen
Hanging on the wall
Or Little Joe, or maybe Lou
I'd love to be them all.
Then all New York City's broken hearts
And secrets would be mine
I'd put you on a movie reel
And that would be just fine.

This was the most heatwarming comment I ever recieved.
I'm living with a parent in Dunedin, New Zealand, was only in hospital for six weeks following my injury and hopefully my head is better, I'd say it works better than it did ten and a half months ago, probably because I was in a coma then but you know what I mean.
I was doing a psychological assessment and I just had to remember something like 15 words which I did after hearing them listed the third time and then I remembered them again a while later and then again a while later so the guy testing me said "nobody's done that for 18 years" and I wasn't surprised at the time.

Rehab wasn't that bad once I was gone :D

It was a particularly long six weeks, the Sundays in rehab were especially long, but that six weeks does include a 12ish day coma, which is funny when you wake up, man in a medical coat tells you that you just came out of your coma and btw we took out most of one of your frontal lobes, your first question is always going to be "what year is it?".

But yeah I recovered stupidly fast/well for the first couple of months and slowed down a bit after that, but I did a semester of university (for which I don't have my marks back but certainly failed at least one of the only two papers I did) and have been getting out a lot with my main group of friends quite a lot lately and walking a hell of a lot so really it's better than can be expected, considering all neuro professional people should by training automatically assume I was dead given my brain scans, so that's always nice.

a 12 day coma, wow, i can't imagine what that must have been like, i suppose you would feel like a time traveller. i'm really happy to hear you're doing so much better. oh isn't life beautiful?? i'm also happy you're here with all your gorgeous pictures x
